I have been asked to move to deep purpose and passion. I have always, first and foremost, been a spiritual counselor, even before I became a veterinarian, mother and homeopath. As a child, I was the one on the second grade playground assisting friends with their troubles.
Those of you who joined my unique presentation at the 2018 Raw and Natural Dog Summit in Chicago know that I always inspire a deeper sense of connection in people. This is true not only with each other, but also with our beloved animals. I see our animals as our spiritual connection, our link to the natural world. Sometimes we think that humans are the ones who’ve rescued our animals, and that we’ve provided them with unconditional love and unsurpassed care. But I believe it is time that we all really ponder, who really rescued whom? Who brings us messages of unconditional love on a daily basis? We may love our partners, family, children and parents, but do they ever truly show us unconditional love in the same manner?
Who represents this embodiment of a spiritual life force for us? Dogs, our canine companions, are truly our Earth Angels. They’re our loyal best friends, our cuddle buddies, our working dogs dedicated to service on all levels, some even saving lives. Many have heard me express how our pets are also our preventative medicine, our canaries in the coalmine. They reflect emotional and environmental toxicity, and I believe we need to always be listening to them. But now, I want to acknowledge that they’re much more than that. It is time to delve deeper in this conversation of how dogs, pets, and animals can be our angelic reminders here on earth.
Animal Messengers
I’ve always found it interesting that many who are not religious, or who have varied cultural upbringings, believe in angels. What is it about angels that gives us those feelings of universal connection and truth? Even those who are not pet owners, when asked about animals and angels, also seem in agreement about special messages or connections. Some may even resist ownership, perhaps because of some germ, or the fur, or responsibility phobia, or a negative exposure in childhood, or even just a lack of connection, but if you’ve ever been in a low place of grief or isolation, most of us can recall a story of a special animal messenger that brought connection somehow or someway, even if it was just a visit from a bird or butterfly on a park bench.
Animal messengers are especially life and spirit saving for us during intense times of trauma and grief. According to Native American traditions, classical animal visitors can bring messages of renewal and hope during these difficult times. Animal spirit messengers, such as butterflies, dragonflies and birds, are the most referenced in those cultures during times of transformation. However, there are also just daily curiosities or messages, and many other animals can be referenced through happenstance sightings or even with the playful pulling of animal medicine cards.
Over the years these animal messenger sightings have been fun and moving for me as I gain even greater insights into my own life and the lives of others. We are all connected to the unseen realms and can receive information through intentional openings to this world beyond this physical realm. The animal medicine cards seem to be a consistent, spot-on reflection for me. This is just a deeper manifestation of how the quantum field works in our lives. Since this world intrigues me for a relationship with healing, I have also been working with animal communicators and have personally studied with three different shamans over the last few years. I now know, without a shadow of a doubt, that all things are connected and the healing can be just as deep in the transformation to the spirit realm as it is for witnessing a miraculous physical healing.
As difficult as it was at the time, I can now say that with the sudden passing of my beloved dog Bella, and shortly after came the passing of someone I hold dear, the connection that has come into my deeper sense of consciousness is beyond faith. I know that they are guiding me daily and have helped co-create miracles beyond my wildest imaginings. I have been gifted unique periods in my life when I spontaneously channel an individual animal here or on the other side. Yet these new recent experiences are beyond even that.
Let Me Introduce You to Johnny
Less than two weeks after Bella passed, Johnny, who was like a brother to me, transitioned suddenly. There are still mysteries around the exact physical cause for both deaths. We are clear that it was related to their hearts.
Johnny was a compassionate, loving individual who always wanted to help people. At the age of fifteen, Johnny experienced a head injury that changed him forever. During his time in the hospital he had the chance to meet his deceased great grandmother on the other side. However, he was told it was not his day and he needed to go back. As Johnny moved into adulthood he continued with his passion and love for others. Johnny was a Search and Rescue Diver, a First Responder, and later became a Reiki Master all while working his corporate jobs. Johnny was a lifelong writer and intuitive himself – an amazing spirit who suddenly left. He has told me clearly he is here to help all who call on him. He is Doctor Johnny now in this capacity, as he is clearly a spirit doctor of the heart and the soul.
Doctor Johnny is a director of sorts, and is now connecting me with my own angelic team as a kind of translator. Johnny was a translator of sorts in many of his corporate jobs and I further believe that this is his divine role now, to help others get connected with their own team of angels. I’ve told many clients about him and invited them to call upon him, and they have definitely had their own experiences as well. Doctor Johnny was also a big animal lover while here, and his wife and I are in close contact as she has the daunting task of raising their three teenage daughters on her own now.
Their family dog is Siberian Husky named Sky. Naturally beautiful and intelligent, Sky is very aware of his purpose and place in their family. Sky has also brought these animal messengers to full alert many, many times now. Most recently, Sky has had an obsession with opossums. While the message with these opossums was unclear at first, the relationship definitely referred to Doctor Johnny’s wife’s concerns over the mounting pressure of all the paperwork that comes with the death of a loved one. The animal encounter was relayed over and over until she finally clearly understood. It’s hilarious looking back at it now; the late night backyard events were annoying at best until she finally “got it.”
I have been the interpreter for many of my clients, friends, and family members over my lifetime and it is so fun to see the aha! moments in action. This connection between animals, angels, and the unseen world is the real magic in life, just like the profound influence of love for healing and transformation. I absolutely know that it is my calling to help remind people of this everyday magic for me to live a purposeful life. Magic is the juice of life and makes the crazy roller coaster ride worth it.
My Path to Animals and Angels
How did I find myself in a position to communicate on a spiritual level with these messengers? My spiritual background is interesting. I was baptized Unitarian and then personally selected Christianity as the youngest member of my grandparents’ retirement community congregation at the age of 13. The music is what moved me the most in church, but honestly nature has and always will be my church. I can feel the divine when I am floating in the ocean, leaning against a tree, or lying in a grass patch. Animals have always been divine reminders for me and I was so blessed to have grandparents who exposed me to both Christianity and Native American principles. They taught me the importance of honoring all life as sacred, including Mother Earth and Father Sky. These all seemed inclusive in my world and my personal childhood belief of a universal energetic web above the earth plane from where all our intuitive information comes was important. Shamanic studies have all confirmed this childhood belief and have allowed me to open more and more to information beyond the veil. Our most important healing needs to be a careful inventory of our beliefs. Which ones are serving us and which are limiting us and our experiences?
Jesus has always been my rock and I attended Catholic school from first to eight grade. However, I do not believe any dogma that teaches fear, control or judgment of others. We all have choices to make daily and discernment and forgiveness is essential as some are confused and traumatized and reactive in those dark places. Forgive them, they know not what they do. We are all children of God and all have the choice to hold Christ consciousness and act from that place as much as possible. We are all human and will falter and forget of our divine connection. We need each other to remind us, not judge and condemn us. Every moment of every day is a choice.
Opening Your Mind to Miracles
When I discovered the immense DNA disruption and cellular toxicity of Wi-Fi and manmade EMF (electromagnetic frequencies), it took me a while to regroup. I knew for my own health that I needed to detox and I took it extremely seriously. Now, two years off Wi-Fi, I can say that my intuitive connection is so strong and clear that the messages are undeniable. Even when the guidance leads me in bizarre ways, it always has a purpose for my soul growth, even if it’s challenging. That trust is priceless. Trust of self and soul add purpose, and that is what I wish for every single individual on the planet. So yes, you can do yoga or breath work or study with a shaman or get repeated exorcisms or a multitude of other things; but what if just detoxing your body and brain of heavy metals, hard-wiring your house and turning your bedroom breakers off at night gives you a deep self-knowing that compares to no other? It’s like having a safety blanket around
all the time, knowing I am never alone and my decisions are guided. Of course, this isn’t to say I’m not human and don’t have my tantrums, but now my awareness and self-forgiveness and accountability are reset faster than I could have ever imagined. I still feel like a teenager learning how to have challenging conversations, but I can laugh at even that aspect now, whereas before I was mostly terrified of my words being interpreted with the wrong intention or being misunderstood.
Grounding in nature, of course, also truly quickens this whole process, so that hour a day could literally save your life or the life of your pet. Most pets are our indoor nature connection and therapist all rolled up into one. I believe the title “Earth Angel” is only fitting, with those heavy responsibilities. Honor your guides and angels and animal messengers and beloved pets for all that they are and how they can lovingly give you nudges of inspired action, be it for a walk, or cuddles when needed, or pattern interrupt of incessant barking or scratching when your thoughts have run amuck in a negative loop. Honor, honor, honor and listen deeply. Every day is a gift if we believe it to be so. Hug them while you’ve got them and listen. Look and watch to see what buzzes, swoops, slithers, or runs by your path. Have fun and be open. The mind is like a parachute – it only functions when it’s open. Let me know if this interests you for further conversation, as this is just the beginning. I know, it has been written in the stars after all.
